The foundation of this site is advocacy for accessibility. Acessibility includes connectivity, language and much more.
Accessibility is important to many different people from many different angles.
Consider the person impacted by an inaccessible set of stairs. Not only are they impacted directly but whatever is at the top of those stairs will never know what they missed. Both lose. Businesses which can enjoy the luxury of alienating 10% of their potential customer base are few and far between. No business would knowlingly prevent customers from shopping in their stores by building barriers, yet everyday as websites are built those barriers go up preventing customers from reading about their services. And the changes required to open up their sites are so easy.
Advocating for access and making a difference isn't just a 'nice to have'. When sites are built, languages used and people connecting more than ever it's required.
